Well. Wasn’t that the obvious answer?
Holy shit, y’all. I just finished a short story.

Holy shit, y’all. I just finished a short story.

Let’s change some things around here.
I declare this blog officially free of any perimeters previously imposed upon it.
That’s right. Anything goes from here on out. Why? Well I’m no longer sure what the hell kinda life I want to lead, so it only makes sense for this blog to go in a similar direction.
That is to say, no particular direction at all.
There may be writing, there may be art, there may be gifs, there may be pickles, there may be rants and whines. It’ll be a surprise every time!
However, no matter what it is, it will definitely be a party.

I understand the whole depressed/alcoholic/angry/jaded/insane artist bullshit.
Writing sucks. I hate it. I hate it so much because I love it so much and all it consists of is one huge circle jerk of self-loathing and hatred. …Onwards!
So hey, how’re you doing? Me? I’m doing fine. Nothing of consequence going on with me. Just, you know, the usual. Oh, I got a job. So that’s nice. What kind of job? Oh, teaching English. Pretty standard with my degree, right? Haha. What age? Well, I’m not sure as of yet. Yeah, I’ve been hired! I told you. They just haven’t told me what grade level. Which school? Not sure either. What do I know about this job? Oh, well, all I really know is that I will in the vicinity of this:
A little while ago I posted the mini autobiography from the physical portfolio I did as my final project at St. Edward’s. This time I want to post some pictures of the actual portfolio. I’ll give a little explanation of the design.
Because the theme of my portfolio was “Wordplay” and I wanted to emphasize the words and the writing I decided to go with a clean and subtle design layout. At the same time I didn’t want it to come out boring and plain. So in order to make it clean and subtle, but interesting at the same time I made my colors black text on a white background. I had the majority of my design fun with the typography. My main font is Garamond, my absolute favorite font (probably to a fault) and I accented it with Valdimir Script, a very pretty and elegant cursive font.
You’ll notice that the design is almost exactly the design of my portfolio website. My website was done at the same time for another class and they purposely mirror each other.

For my degree in English Writing & Rhetoric I had to complete a portfolio before I graduated. The portfolio was suppose to catalog my experience in the English department at St. Edward’s University and present the best examples of my writing I had completed over the years. Putting this portfolio together was an extremely interesting and fun experience. It really put what I had accomplished at St. Ed’s into perspective. I was able to laugh at some of my earlier writing and also realize that some of it was pretty good. For the opening of our portfolio, we had to write an introductory essay; a small little autobiography for our writer-self that explained our motivations behind our portfolio design and the writing that we included. It wasn’t until I was holding my completed portfolio that I realized that this introductory essay had become one of the better pieces in my portfolio. And as I read it over and over again I slowly realized it might just be some of the best writing I’d ever done. …Onwards!
My mind wondered off into itself again and had some peculiar thoughts.
I really don’t know what this is exactly. I’m pretty sure it’s creative writing of some sort. Maybe it’s a poem? Let’s try arranging it as such. …Onwards!
Since, you know, this is a blog about writing and I’m a writer, let’s, you know, post some writing. …Onwards!
